Last 2 Bales

I’m down to the last two bales of hay so the web cam will be shutting down on Friday until next Fall.  It’s been a good season, but I’m way over budget on moose food this year.  The worst of winter is hopefully behind us even though it’s been pretty mild here this year.  Time to let the moose fend for themselves elsewhere.  I now have 3 months of moose poop to clean up come spring.  Do I hear any volunteers??

Thank you for this web site! I have so enjoyed watching the moose. I live in the Tidewater area of Virginia, and so miss proper winters and wildlife. We used to live in the mountains of western Virginia but had to move due to family obligations. Having the view from this cam has been a welcome respite in my urban existence! My husband promises we will one day move somewhere more bucolic, and I so look forward to it. Until that time, web cams such as yours will grace my computer. Again, thank you.

Sorry to see that the cam will be going off. I check in everyday and so much enjoy the moose. Thank you for letting us view this wonderful sight.
You are so lucky to have the moose at your door. The moose are lucky to have you to feed them as well. Until next time. Barbara from Holly, Michigan.

I agree with Barbara… you are so very lucky to have the gorgeous moose at your door and you have been so very generous to feed them too.
Thank you so much… Till next season…

Oh what a wonderful time I had watching the moose. They are one of my favorite animals in all the world. I found your site by accident and it was such an exciting accident. I will miss them all. Since I am relatively new here, do the same moose come back next year? Are they territorial and stay in the same area? I will miss Alfalfa. Thank you, thank you for the wonderful cam. Do you have a fund for moose food? If so, I would like to send a little something to help you.

Well I knew this was coming… Sad that the camera will be shutting down, it has been an excellent Moose watching season! I have also loved watching your little doggie wander amongst them all, acting like he owns the place!!
I would come and help you clean up but you’d be done by the time we could fly over. Have a lovely summer and we’ll see you next winter, cheers from Australia!!

ps…have you thought of doing some sort of t-shirt fundraising thing? We could all help in the cost of feeding them and also show off our crazy love for these creatures.

Pook, will surely miss your moose visitors as well as your updates. Thanks for all you do for them and for the viewers. You should post info so that we could send donations to help with your hay/feed bills! Hope the rest of your year is a good one. West Virginia would love to send you some snow!!

Eeewwww, moose poop ay? Of course that’d be the reality of all the feeding you’ve been doing, what ever goes in must come out. Thank goodness, only the beauty of the the big game against beautiful snowy backdrops comes to us via the cam. Sorry you’ve got major clean-up now, but we’ve all truly enjoyed this season……look for you back next year. Thanks bunches for the ‘big show’ and take good care.

Thank you for entertaining Buffalo, NY and everyone elsewhere with your pictures, news and updates. I am counting on you posting written updates of any activity in your yard, even if the web cam is not on. I know your moosewatch fans will be interested when the last moose leaves and if they wander back to you during the coming months. I am still going to check the site everyday hoping you will share the news. Who else out there is experiencing “moose withdrawal”? Maybe you could run that big snow blower over the moose piles and just blow it out of your yard! Is there a market for moose fertilizer?! Thanks for making our lives more exciting with your generous time and talent!

Thanks so much for the 2009-2010 viewing season.
Every fall my heart skips a beat when I see the
cam is up and running. We all appreciate your
hard work and $$$ to keep this cam online.
I wish I could help you shovel this coming Spring :-)

Is there some way we can donate money to help with the food either this year or next?

Can your viewers send money to The Market at Park City (I think they supplied the apples at least last year) to an account for the moose? What are other places where you purchase the hay? It seems a lot of people really want to contribute. Tell us the best way to do this. I have the site “up” all day - getting in as much viewing as I can before the web cam is turned off. Thanks again. Diversion is a great thing and the moose certainly are great at that. We can’t thank you enough for bringing these treasures to us.

Thank you for sharing the moose with all of us. I too would like to contribute to either keep this going now, or to get ready for the next season. I love to watch them and they are a wonderful stress-reliever! They really are treasures. Get yourself a post office box and see what happens! I think there are a lot of people out there who would love to help not only the moose, but other wildlife in your area. And I must add, I love to see your dog show up in the pictures too! Have a wonderful summer!

Yes, would love to know how many bales of hay you go through in a winter and what is the cost of a bale of hay. If we each “bought” a few bales of hay, it might help lighten your load at least in that way — since so many of us won’t be able to help carry the other load you referenced.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your site for a couple years, now. I believe that some of us who like it would donate for food. I will help clean if I can come see moosies, too! thanks for your work.

As always I have followed the group again this year-I so enjoy them. I appreciate the time you take and the writing about them and their antics. Untill next fall–have a safe year. And as others have said-I’d love to help contribute to their feed….Take care!
